Notes on the macOS version

The .dmg file is a single folder archive so once opened just drag the Quoll Writer application into your Applications folder to install. Quoll Writer has been tested and is known to work on Big Sur.

Some things to note:

• You may have some trouble installing the application. The archive is not signed by Apple and so won't be trusted. This Apple help page should help get around the issue.
• Quoll Writer will never be in the Mac App store. I am fundamentally against the idea of App Stores and always will be, I'm not paying Apple money to gain access to their walled garden. It reduces your freedom and mine.
• Quoll Writer does not have a menu bar and never will. I am even more against menu bars than I am App Stores. When in doubt, right click on something to find out what you can do!

Notes on the Linux version

The download is provided as a .deb file. The tool I use to create the Linux version, install4j, only allows me to create .deb or .rpm files. I won't be creating any other distribution type, I chose .deb because people complained about the .rpm. If install4j supports other distribution types then I'll make them available where possible.
